Fred Astaire Dance FantasyWhat a show! Fred Astaire Dance Studios annual theatrical production has grown to a
two night event! Over 150 students and professionals rehearsed solos, showcases, and novelties for six months in preparation for the show, held at the Sharon Lynn Wilson Center for the Arts. The audience was taken on a rollercoaster ride as some numbers had them rolling in the aisles, some had them on the edge of their seats, and some had the audience wiping away tears. Both night culminated with a professional show taken from the 2008 Tony Award winning musical "In The Heights"! Talk to your teachers about how you can participate next year! Milwaukee Classic Freddy Ball
Milwaukee's version of the Oscars! The most formal event of the year was absolutely amazing! Hollywood came to Milwaukeewith flowing evening gowns, tuxedos, strolling musicians, papparazzi, a red carpet and some amazing dancing! Stduent competed all day Saturday and Sunday including pro/am multi-dance championships, pro divisions, a fantastic formal dining experience, a Professional Show, general dancing, as well as awards for top 2008 students and professionals!
Winter Trophy Ball
What a fabulous climax to a year full of fantastic memories! Winter Trophy Ball is our most formal event of the year and a celebration of our students hard work and accomplishments for 2008. It is a graduation ceremony for students as they continue to progress in their dancing. Fred Astaire Dance Studios' patented curriculum and teaching methods ensure that our student's continue to develop in their dance education and we love to celebrate their growth! It included student exhibitions, honor dances, and climaxed with a formal ball complete with evening gowns and tuxedos! The evening climaxed with a professional show that included some amazing performances and hilarious studio skits! Congratulations to all of the Downtown Studio's students that passed their Trophy System levels and went on to the next step in their dancing!
Winter Festival
How often do you get a chance to socialize with your instructors and other students from the region? We had some awesome party outings this holiday season! We took the parties to Lucille's Dueling Piano Bar, Giggles comedy club, Hot Water for some latin dancing and a hypnotist show, and finally full circle for a Victory Party with sweets and treats! All three outside parties included students from all of the regional FADS studios and we packed the house! Students earned Festival points (and helped their teachers do the same) toward some fantastic prizes and took advantage of the studio's generocity this season by enrolling on the fantastic lesson packages that were available as well. Congratulations to everyone that participated!
Audition Day
Have you thought of being star of stage and screen? Audition Day 08' was a fun day of mingling and comraderie amongst students and staff in the region as we enjoyed a potluck get-together with a casino atmosphere to boot! To an informal theme of "In The Heights" the chips were flying as we played blackjack, roulette, and poker for 1000's of Winter Festival points! Many students auditioned their musical options with one of three choreographers for a chance to be in the FADS Dance Fantasy theatrical production next year! Close to one hundred numbers were approved and the two night show is almost sold out already! Congratulations to the following students for deciding to be a part of the Fred Astaire Dance Fantasy 2009!
